VOLUNTEERS SAVE US MONEY

$12M saved every year

Since all the Estes Valley Fire District firefighters are volunteers, local taxpayers save approximately $12 million a year by not having to pay firefighter salaries or benefits. This means any new sales tax revenue can be used very efficiently to expand and strengthen our force; and on needed equipment and training to keep Estes Valley Fire District effective in its firefighting mission.

Fire District Facts

Estes Valley is one of the few fire districts without a permanent, guaranteed funding source dedicated to firefighting.

Today, we cannot fund a Capital Reserve to replace trucks and apparatus; and the town’s sales tax support is not sustainable.

Over 80% of our neighbors surveyed said that Estes Valley needs and deserves a permanent funding source to support our Professional Volunteer Firefighters to protect our community.
